  • Parking!
The pedal harp is quite large (1.8m tall, 1.2m wide, 36-40kg) and unfortunately can not be taken on public transport or Uber. To ensure its safe and convenient transport, I tow it in my SUV, so secure parking or a designated drop-off area is essential for all events and performances.
  • Outdoor Events
While the harp can be played outdoors, there are a few essential considerations to ensure a successful and enjoyable experience: Weather Rain: A backup plan is crucial in case of rain, as the harp cannot get wet. Sun: Just like us, the harp can get "sunburned" easily, so please provide shade if your event is on a bright, sunny day. Wind: Strong winds can be challenging, and in extreme cases, may require an indoor setup with amplified sound. Ground The harp requires a flat, dry, and even surface to ensure proper function and protection. Avoid placing the harp on rocks, gravel, or stone, as they can damage the instrument. If playing on grass, ensure it's dry and ideally, have a prepared board or mat to prevent dust, dirt, and moisture from entering the harp's mechanisms.
  • Amplification
The acoustic pedal harp produces a strong sound suitable for quiet moments like wedding ceremonies. However, for larger events or spaces with dry acoustics, amplification may be necessary to ensure the sound carries well. I offer amplification options, but recommend coordinating with the event organizer or sound engineer to achieve the desired sound quality.

However, for weddings or events on Waiheke Island or other locations requiring a ferry trip, I add the cost of the Sealink car ferry ticket to my fee, depending on availability and scheduling. This ensures I can arrive safely and on time with my harp.
  • Can you play everything?!
I'd like to think almost everything! I've arranged songs by special request and enjoyed adapting different genres to the harp. If you're unsure if your favorite song will work on the harp, feel free to ask! With enough notice I'm more than happy to arrange but if you're not sure whether your favourite/ideal song will work on the harp feel free to ask! I like to think that most things sound better on the harp too 😉
  • Cancellations
Please note that cancellations within 5 days of a booking will incur a 50% cancellation fee. If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the event, the full amount will be charged. This policy does not apply to events rescheduled due to illness or weather conditions, but please note that availability for the new date is subject to my schedule. Bond Requirement For larger projects or ceremonies, I may require a bond to secure the booking. This will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
